The Commerce and Culture Year invites you to discover the architecture and history of one of the city’s main thoroughfares. The walks along Av. Diagonal reveal the artistic and cultural heritage of a street which also has intense commercial, professional and community activity.
Av. Diagonal is one of Barcelona’s main thoroughfares, with a huge architectural and monumental wealth and an extensive array of shops and restaurants. Yet it is also unfamiliar to people in Barcelona, often considered as a road to get from one place to another, rather than a place to take a stroll.
The Commerce and Culture Year offers the possibility to revisit this city avenue, discovering its hidden cultural wealth with some free walks taking place on Saturdays in December and January.
During the walks there will be a chance to see how our city has changed, how it has grown and what anecdotes it has left behind over the years.
The upcoming walks are devoted to sculptures along the avenue, to the Diagonal now disappeared and to the Diagonal of Puig i Cadafalch and Enric Sagnier.
Anyone wishing to take part in the walks should sign up in advance here.
