Bibliolab

The term Bibliolab covers a group of innovative projects, activities and services that offer skills acquisition to citizens, thanks to the contributions of people and organisations that share their knowledge with the community and enrich its social capital.

The main aim is to generate competent communities through the leadership of the library and the organisations that support it, which function as a point where skills are connected and citizens are empowered.

The actions that form part of the Bibliolabs aim to provide access to knowledge through experimentation and innovative and creative methodologies in a collaborative environment open to citizens.

The projects developed in a Bibliolab cover different branches of knowledge, in many of which technology plays an important role as a vehicular tool, but the most important aspect is learning to work collaboratively and share knowledge through proposals that are based on experimentation and creativity.

In a Bibliolab, projects can be developed that are purely technological, as in the case of the American Space Barcelona or the Bibliolab Maker; but there are also scientific and social projects such as the Science Bibliolab or the Gaming Zone, artistic projects and projects related to reading and literature.

The Bibliolab projects receive support from Barcelona Provincial Council’s Library Service Management Office.
