Everything on children’s and youth literature
The Biblioteca Xavier Benguerel's Children’s and Youth Literature Documents Service aims to preserve, study and disseminate everything connected to the production, promotion and study of children's and young people's literature, putting special emphasis on Catalan works and authors.
The service also promotes and coordinates projects for children's sections in the city's libraries, advising libraries that wish to carry out projects for children and making policy proposals for collections contained in children's sections.

We offer information and publicity on children's and youth books as well as encouragement for reading, extending our services to both specialists and the general public:

- Teachers, parents and anyone else interested in children's and youth literature.
The service has an important collection specialising in children's and youth literature. Part of this unique collection has been digitalised and can be found at the online resource Trencadís. The collection brings together children's and young people’s literature, including illustrated albums by iconic publishers such as Muntañola and Molino; a selection of classic tales allowing for a comparison and analysis of different versions of the same story; books with a religious and moral theme, which show the reality and conventions of various eras.
