Bike lanes. The city’s bike lane network grows with new routes and connections, guaranteeing safe bike mobility in the district of Les Corts.
The new bike lanes which opened up this month in Les Corts allow users to get around the district safely by bike. The boost to the bike lane network helps towards safer and more sustainability mobility.
The city’s network for cyclists continues to grow, with new routes and connections. The municipal aim is to triple the number of bike lane kilometres from two years ago. The new lanes which have become operative this month are:
Pedralbes and environs
-C/ Cavallers (from Av. Pedralbes to C/ González Tablas).
-C/ Montevideo (from C/ Gaspar de Cassadó to Av. Espasa).
-Pg. Manuel Girona (from C/ Jiménez Iglesias to Av. Pedralbes).
-C/ Marquès de Mulhacén (from C/ Tòquio to C/ Bosch i Gimpera).
-Pl. Pius XII. Short connection between the bike lane in Av. Diagonal and C/ Jiménez Iglesias.
The area has also been equipped with 30 kmh speed limit signs, as well as new bike parking racks in the street. The bike lane in C/ Jordi Girona, previously a two-way lane, has also been turned into two one-way lanes. The series of measures enables vertical mobility (Av. Diagonal – Ronda de Dalt), as well as horizontal mobility, particularly the connection between the Parc de l’Oreneta and the Parc de Cervantes.
Avinguda del Doctor Marañon
A new bike lane has also been built in the Les Corts district from Av. Diagonal to the Arístides Maillol-Joan XXIII roundabout. The two-way lane includes different construction solutions, partly to adapt to the work being done in the area for the L9 metro line.
This is the first section to open of a bike route running form the mountain to the sea, which will also link Eplugues de Llobregat and L’Hospitalet de Llobregat in the future.
