Williamsburg, A Place I Once Called Home
Presentation of this monograph by Mara Catalán
In 1990, Mara Catalán moved to New York. After living a few months in Manhattan, with few resources and prospects, she rented an affordable apartment in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Among the desolate and industrial streets of this neighborhood she found a place of friendship and warmth: a home.
This photographic monograph presents a personal narrative of Mara's life between 1994 and 1996, made of black and white images and annotations. Its presentation takes place on Tuesday November 20 in Mecànic, a photographic space in Gràcia.
