Located in Carrer de la Canuda, in one of the most important historic buildings in the city’s literary circles, the Ateneu Barcelonès Writing School teaches the art and trade of writing. The Writing School aims to train literary and publishing professionals, as well as all those wishing to further their knowledge of literature.
From a creative, restless and emotional viewpoint, and with a respectful, informal and correct relationship between teachers and students, the Literary Laboratory offers a wide range of courses, including creative writing, narrative, poetry, scientific writing, language, proofreading or scripts, among others.
Escola Bloom offers creative writing workshops and literary and thought workshops. Moving award from more conventional formats, the aim of the school is to work one-to-one, in small groups, and from a participative and active angle to create a space in which to discuss and share knowledge.
Open to anyone who likes reading and writing, the story workroom is designed as a space to create, learn and share writing for people of all ages. The workroom provides extremely diverse writing workshops that range from the first steps as a narrator and the main narrative techniques to travel literature, children’s stories and comedy literature.
This film and literature school in the Gràcia neighbourhood has been training writers since 1995. Many of the students to have attended the school have won important literary awards and have published their works with prestigious publishing houses. Among others, the school offers courses on creative writing, film scripts, poetry and self-publishing.
The Writing laboratory teaches a wide variety of on-site and on-line courses in both Catalan and Spanish, ranging from narrative or text corrections and literary styles to therapeutic writing, narrative photography, newspaper columns or illustrated tales.
The Sala Beckett is one of the Creation Factories of Barcelona City Council and primarily seeks to publicise and promote contemporary Catalan playwriting and playwrights. The Sala Beckett offers script writing, translation and management, stage lighting and management and acting courses. The Summer workroom is an area of exchange for authors and playwrights and offers an intensive week of courses, workshops, lectures, performances and debates.
