‘Gràcia, comerços singulars’ [Gràcia, unique shops] is a project offering three different routes around the Gràcia neighbourhood to explore different shops, from the most innovative to the most historical and symbolic businesses. This is a guide which enables you to get to know up to 31 unique shops for their historical heritage, innovative character or ability to recapture traditional tastes. These are routes that show how the residents of Gràcia have been able to adapt over time.

The neighbourhood of Gràcia is an area with many unique shops. The ‘Gràcia, comerços singulars’ project offers three different routes to explore a wide variety of establishments exhibiting the charm of the neighbourhood. The first route, ‘Un comerç amb empenta’ [Commerce with drive] highlights eight innovative stores that illustrate the neighbourhood’s creative spirit and defence of social justice. If you follow this route, you will visit shops that promote responsible consumption, and shops that have been awarded prizes for commercial innovation since 2010. In addition, you will encounter new marketing models for hand crafted products.

The second route in the guide, ‘Un comerç amb arrel’ [Commerce with roots], uncovers the neighbourhood’s historical shops, establishments that do not supply food, but have sustained their original business for more than 90 years or have been included in Barcelona City Council’s emblematic shop category.

The final route, ‘Un comerç amb sabor d’abans’ [Commerce with a taste of the past], allows us to discover small businesses that have been open since before the Spanish Civil War and have collected thousands of everyday memories from various generations of residents. These establishments, also recognised as emblematic, showcase Gràcia’s ties to gastronomy on a day-to-day basis and around the dining table.
