Barcelona City Council offers you a summary of the annual survey of the commercial sector in 2015, which covers the most important characteristics of city commerce and the opinion of retailers and traders on commercial activity and the outlook for the future.

As regards the type of property holding, 73.3% of the premises visited are rented

As regards the type of property holding, 73.3% of the premises visited are rented, 18.4% are owned and 5.5% a municipal concession.

70% of commercial establishments have computerised management. The most computerised sectors are: The most computerised sectors are: wine - tobacco (90.7%); automobiles (89.1%) and pharmacy - drugs - perfumes (88.5%). 

Establishments with their own website come to 25.1%

Establishments with a website come to 25.1%. Practically all the websites are for information, with 3 out of every 10 offering an opportunity for online purchases.

60.5% of shop managers are strongly against opening on Sundays

60.5% of shop managers are strongly against opening on Sunday while 27.3% are quite in favour 11.4% are very much in favour.
