B-ANIME: Japanese cartoon cinema takes over the DHUB
For another year running, Japanese animation cinema, known as anime, will take center stage for the B-ANIME FILM FESTIVAL, which will be <at the Disseny Hub Barcelona from November 15 to 18. It is the fourth edition of the festival, which has taken place in the Catalan capital since 2014 and is organized by Mago Experience and the Asociació MEDUSA.
The festival will screen never-before-seen premieres and classics of this film genre to increase visibility and create a focal point for its followers to meet and see quality works that are often hard to access. These pictures don't hit our movie theaters for financial reasons, despite an average of 70 productions in the genre being released every year in Japan. Thanks to the privileged position Mago Experience and the Asociació Medusa hold in the Asian market, they have managed to get access to the movies that will be shown this weekend.
The movies will be projected in the auditorium of the Disseny Hub Barcelona and in the El Clot - Josep Benet library. Among this year's showings are Death Note, Gurrenn Lagan, Mazinger Z and King of Thorn, as well as a mystery screening. There will also be a KIDS section, dedicated to little ones, with movies such as Friends: Naki on the Monster Island, Journey to Agartha, Summer days with Coo and Rudolf the Black Cat. Parallel activities have also been organized to complement the cinema sessions.
Fans of all ages are expected at the festival, with most being young people, who are the main audience of the constantly growing anime phenomenon. The organizers says that the main aim of the festival is not just to open the audience up to Japanese culture, but also to promote audiovisual and cult products.
Entry to the festival is free. You can see the full program by following this link.
