‘Barcelona Startup City Seminar’: an opportunity to learn more about the Barcelona startup ecosystem
Barcelona is an attractive city for startups. Or at least that's what the data shows us. In 2017, the EU-Startups rankings positioned Barcelona as the fifth most important startup hub in Europe for the third year running. in a row. The Global Cities Investment Monitor 2017 placed it in the Top 10 for urban areas for foreign investment, and the Global Power City Index ranked it in the top 2 globally.
From July 2 to 5, Catalunya Emprèn is organizing the second edition of the ‘Barcelona Startup City Seminar’. This free seminar allows participants to clearly visualize the startup ecosystem in Barcelona.
More than 50 people selected from the best universities, coworking spaces, research centers, 'fab labs' and other institutions in the city of Barcelona will take part. The Barcelona Startup City Seminar will also include the participation of people involved in entrepreneurship promotion programs and professors of higher and professional education.
The program includes a variety of roundtables and conferences including Barcelona Activa, an organization that has been stimulating economic development in Barcelona and its surrounding areas for over 30 years. This roundtable will be moderated by Itziar Blasco and includes Germán León from Gestoos; Ignasi Capellà of Broomx, and Jordi Tomàs, of ECooltra.
Creativity, knowledge generation and empowerment of personal skills will also be a focus, most notably at the roundtable moderated by Marc Llebaria of Vodafone and including the participation of Julie Chrysler of Imagine Creativity Center; Christian Acosta-Flamma of Telanto, and Xavier Pascual of BeDebate.
The seminar is open to the general public but requires prior registration. For more information and to access the registration form, go to the Barcelona Startup City Seminar website.
