El Disseny Hub s'omple de novetats de cara al setembre
September is just around the corner and with its arrival comes a wide range of new activities at the Disseny Hub including exhibitions and special day-long events.
The lobby at Àvila and Sala B has filled it space with jewels from two exhibits by the A-FAD, the association of artists and artisans and the association for the support of the decorative arts. From September 13 to October 13, Sala B will host 'Quan la joia es fa metàfora' (when the jewel becomes a metaphor). This retrospective will include a wide selection of pieces by Catalan jeweller Ramon Puig. The jewels give an overview of Puig's career with jewels he created during a 30-year period between 1985 and 2018.
On Thursday, September 13, the Àvila lobby will also be home to the collective exhibition ‘Enjoia’t’, which includes the works selected for the contemporary jewellery awards of the same name. Celebrated annually for 24 years, these awards have become an indispensable meeting place for professionals and jewellery students from around the world. The exhibition will run until October 5. The following day, the Disseny Hub will host an open party for the Enjoia't 2018 awards.
Beginning Tuesday, September 18th, in the first-floor lobby, the public will be able to visit a third exhibition, promoted by Elisava and organized by the materials centre of Barcelona, otherwise known as MaterFAD. ‘Future woods. Earth and Mars’ allows visitors to discover wood and some of its by-products in order to understand how the wood of the future will be on Earth and how it would exist on Mars.
Within the framework of the Industrial and Intellectual Property (PII) cycle, the Design Cluster is promoting a new event, open to members and non-members of the collective.. The event will focus on the protection of PII in a 4.0 environment and will be given by the PII experts from Clarke, Modet & Co. The activity will help attendees understand the usefulness of the protection and exploitation tools of PII in the new 4.0 environments and will require pre-registration to be able to participate.
