Gastronomy and design join forces in the Design the Restaurant Experience course
Gastronomy hits the Disseny Hub Barcelona for the Executive version of the Design the Restaurant Experience course, led by the BCD and Plateselector. This edition aims to connect people from the sector, who have food establishments and projects, with industry services, updates and trends.
The days 19th, 21st, 26th and 28th November and the 3rd December, course attendees will participate in sessions and workshops to gain knowledge and techniques that apply design and different methodologies from the world of cuisine and catering. The activities will involve renowned experts such as Pere Castells, Jordi Gàmez, Andreu Carulla and Jaume Mendieta, as well as projects such as elBulli and the Celler de Can Roca. They will tackle topics related to the creation of ideas and opportunities, trends in the sector, the design of a service and sustainability. Through studying successful cases and practical sessions, the course will also deepen gastronomic communication and marketing, explaining the relevance of handling content and how to interact with the media and influencers.
The course aims to highlight the importance of design and how it shapes the catering sector, thanks to the boom in the city of Barcelona, but also how it has generated more difficulty in being different from competitors.
“We want to take professionals out of their comfort zone and form a high-performance team that makes them doubt things they had previously taken as fact”, remarked Anna Verbon, manager of the program. “We need to shake them up with disruptive theories so they end up acquiring knowledge that lets them keep their business up to date”.
