Registration for the 2018 FAD Architecture and Interior Design Awards Now Open
Registration to take part in the 2018 edition of the FAD Awards for Architecture and Interior Design is now open. ARQUINFAD, the design section of the FAD space, has already opened this year's call for the 60th edition of these awards. Until next January 25, works completed between January 1 and December 31, 2017 can be registered in the categories of Architecture, Interior Design, City and Landscape and Ephemeral Interventions.
This year, the jury will be chaired by Anna Bach and will be attended by Ricardo Carvalho, Pau de Solà-Morales, Cristina Domínguez, Carmen Moreno and Susana Pavón.
ARQUINFAD has also opened the inscriptions to two more recent call for awards: the 13th edition of the FAD Prize for Thought and Criticism, which awards a publication in the field of architecture and interior design; and the 5th edition of the International FAD Awards, which reward the work of Spanish studies in other countries.
The 2017 edition of the FAD Awards in Architecture and Interior Design left a group of professionals awarded for works that the Jury considered of great quality. In the category of Architecture, the winners were Emilio Tuñón and Luis Moreno for their intervention at the Museum of Royal Collections. Victoria Acebo and Ángel Alonso took the award for the interior design category for their work Pontejos 9. Claudi Aguiló, Albert Domingo and Xavier Vendrell won the City and Landscape Award for their project to rehabilitate the Parc de Joan Oliver in Badia del Vallès. Finally, the prize for the category of Ephemeral Interventions went to Luis Martínez Santa-María and Roger Sauquet, who designed the Commemorative Columns for the 30 year anniversary of the reconstruction of the German Pavilion of Mies van der Rohe.
The jury will announce its verdict in a public ceremony that will coincide with an exhibition of the works declared as finalists.
