The Fundació Trinijove is taking charge of the renovation of a municipally-owned modernista industrial unit, which is to be turned into a centre for reconditioning computers and related technology to be given to social entities. Vocational courses will also be run at the premises for local youngsters from the district.
The inside of the building has a surface area of 600 square metres and will feature a large diaphanous space where obsolete computers will be recycled, as well as two training rooms for IT recycling courses aimed at youngsters from the district.
The Councillor for Sant Martí, Josep Maria Montaner, asserted: “The policy of investing in industrial heritage in the 22@ area is unprecedented and allows for the consolidation of the most diverse work ecology possible in the district, as well as all types of solidarity economy initiatives”.
