What is a Green Point?

Green point are used to get rid of waste can’t be thrown into street containers. By using this service we contribute to improve the recycling process and help preserving the environment.

Green Point area

They are large environmental facilities located on the outskirts of the city. Although the service is free for individuals, these areas are specifically aimed at the commercial and services sectors.

Elements which you can bring: flat glass, large appliances, gardening and pruning waste, debris, junk and old furniture, clothes, shoes, ink cartridges, toners, electrical and electronic devices, cooking oil, electric cables, small tires, aerosols and sprays, car batteries, cosmetics, radiographs, batteries, motor oil, paints and varnishes, fluorescent light bulbs, coffee capsules (plastic and aluminum), etc.


Elements which you cannot bring: special industrial waste, toxic and hazardous sanitary waste and organic waste.

HOURS

From MONDAY TO FRIDAY: From 8 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.

SATURDAY AND SUNDAY: From 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

HOLIDAYS: Closed

 

Green Points in neighbourhoods

These environmental facilities are smaller and located within the urban area. They are designed for lower volume of household waste.

Elements which you can bring: clothes, shoes, ink cartridges, toners, electrical and electronic devices, cooking oils, electrical cables, small tires, aerosols and sprays, car batteries, cosmetics, radiographs, batteries, motor oils , paints and varnishes, fluorescent light bulbs, coffee capsules (plastic and aluminum), etc.

Elements which you cannot bring: special industrial waste, toxic and hazardous sanitary waste and organic waste, vegetal remains, debris, furniture and junk, debris and wood remains.

Normal timetable restored except opening hour.

From MONDAY TO SATURDAY:: From 9.00 a.m. to 2 p.m. and from 4.30 to 7:30 p.m.

SUNDAY AND HOLIDAYS: Closed

Mobile Green Point

These trucks carry out all the functions of a Greed Point. They are located in different places of the city and work on fixed schedules to approach citizens.

Mobile Green Point at schools

Mobile Green Point at school is an educational and special waste management resource which is addressed at students and their families to make them be aware of the environment. Schools can apply for this service when needed. You can also apply for during a cultural week, for an open day doors as a special activity, for a family day...

Save with the green point user card

Every time you go to a Green Point, present your card to the user service staff so they can record your visit. The more you do this, the greater the discount on the fee for the collection of municipal waste from private homes and the Barcelona Metropolitan Area’s (AMB) waste treatment fee.

The fee provides for discounts of up to 14% for repeated uses of the city’s Green Points. Check the visits made on the AMB website.
