Music and SSE are the main attractions at the new BAM – Cultura Viva space

The new space will be exploring the connection between music and SSE on 22 and 23 September.

This year’s Barcelona Acció Musical (BAM) festival, part of the La Mercè festivities, will have a new venue at the Fabra i Coats site. We are talking about the Cultura Viva space, which will be a meeting and experimentation point for live music, other culture economies and new ways of understanding the relationship between music and communities on 22 and 23 September.

A new festival context that goes beyond the concept of live music. A place for opening up a dialogue between musicians and audiences, witnessing creative open-code processes and offering a complete experience: those attending are active players in all the settings and activities that are held.

Over the course of a day and a half, Fabra i Coats will host a festa major designed and run by a group made up of several players linked to the social, cooperative and community economies. A programme with workshops, conversations, presentations, live music and a paella set to music; a meeting point for music communities, the social economy and participatory culture
