080 Barcelona Fashion in the Museum's collection

Just a few months ago we renewed a part of the exhibition "El cos Vestit" (Dressing the Body) with 12 new additions. Now, as the year comes to an end, we have a new example of contemporary clothing: the shirt and trouser set designed by Oscar León, winner of the Prize for the Best Collection at 080 Barcelona Fashion.

Oscar León started working in 2004 on his own OSCARLEON label. He is also a stylist and a teacher of pattern-making, design and experimentation. He has collaborated on the Ys Mandarina Duck line by Yoshi Yamamoto. Recently, he has opened a concept store in a city centre street in Barcelona, where he presents his Limited Edition clothing and other objects connected to his world.

The piece by Òscar León, from his collection "I CLOSE MY EYES ... AND CAN FEEL YOU" (Autumn - Winter 2017-2018) will become part of the Textile and Clothing Collection of the Museu del Disseny Barcelona, with more than 18,000 dresses, accessories and fashion engravings and photographs from the 16th century to the present day. The incorporation of this piece forms part of the agreement signed between the Museum and the Government of Catalonia to promote the representation of new and young designers of contemporary fashion.
