The Casa Bloc guided tours are back!

After the summer break and starting Saturday, September 10 you can enjoy on of the symbols of rationalist architecture in Barcelona: Casa Bloc.

Constructed during the Second Republic in Barcelona by architects Josep Lluís Sert, Josep Torres Clavé and Joan Baptista Subirana, the Casa Bloc was built using the ideologies of the GATCPAC (Grup d’Artistes i Tècnics Catalans pel Progrés de l’Arquitectura Contemporània, Group of Artists and Technicians for the progress of Catalan Contemporary Architecture).

The Design Museum of Barcelona carried out the project of turning Apartment 1/11 into a museum exhibit with the objective of restoring the original appearance while at the same time demonstrating the innovation that lead to its construction and which had a great influence on architecture and society at that time.

You can visit Casa Bloc at the intersection of Almirall Pròixida street with Torras i Bages passage every Saturday at 11 a.m.,  with previous registration and a guided tour that lasts 1 hour and 30 minutes and costs 4€.
