Ceramic artist Teresa Gironès, dies

Ceramic artist Teresa Gironès, passed away on Wednesday, September 7. She was a professor at the Escola Oficial de Disseny Llotja and vicepresident of the Associació de Ceramistes de Catalunya. 

A master ceramic artist, she took part in over 200 exhibitions around Spain and the world during her 30-year career.

The Design Museum of Barcelona has 10 of Gironès pieces in its collection, some of which are in the photos accompanying this post. As a member of the International Academy of Ceramics (AIC), one of her works will be featured in the exhibition Ceramics Applied to Architecture and Public Space, which runs at the Disseny Hub from September 12 to October 9.
