Just a few days after the change of season and the Museu del Disseny is already a hive of activity. And we’d like to share with you what events await you this spring, whether for families, design specialists or lovers of culture.
The exhibition «Design Does. What design does» is a project in co-production with ELISAVA. It opens at the Museum on 23rd March with the aim of showing design projects that respond to the global challenges of our society. In the Design Does Forum, professionals from various parts of the globe will debate the immediate future of design.
Short Film Festival
Under the umbrella of the 20th edition of MECAL (the International Short film and Animation Festival), the Museum will be hosting Animation Week from 21st to 25th March, with animated short films, competition screenings, master classes and workshops for animation students and the general public.
Starting from the weekend of 7th and 8th April, the family design workshops will be held on a permanent basis on Saturdays and Sundays. Make the most of the weekends with Quien no se espanta, ¡estampa! (Who isn’t afraid, print!) Saturdays (11.30) and Exlibris, ¡pitibris! and Objetos que crean objetos (Objects that create objects) on Sundays at the same time.

The third edition of the seminar will take place on 12th April, and will revolve around contemporary crafts. Take a look at what the seminar was like last year with our vídeo summary.
Night at the Museum
It is not just any night, and we know it. This is why we are preparing some surprises for the Night at the Museum 2018 which, this year, we will all be celebrating on Saturday, 19th May.
The new exhibition of graphic design
Before the summer solstice, we will be celebrating the opening of a new space in the museum: the revamp of the permanent graphic design exhibition which, for the first time, will have a space dedicated to the 1980-2003 period. It can be visited from 9th June.
