The International Museum Day is on 18 May and this year it has the slogan of "Museums and contested histories: Saying the unspeakable in museums". The reason is the conciliatory role that they have in fostering peace between peoples as they expose a past that may be painful.

This celebration was born in 1977 to raise awareness in society about the role that museums have in its development and participants now almost reach 40,000.

Two days after, we will celebrate the Night of Museums from 19:00 on Saturday the 20th until 01:00 on Sunday the 21st. For this year’s edition at the Design Museum, not only can you see, free of charge, the 4 permanent collections of the last day of TAPAS. Spanish Design for Food, but we have also prepared three activities:

·         Redesigning the Churro exhibit which shows the results of the collaboration between Comaxurros and 4 product design studies

·         Mechanics. Performative Installation (performance). Showings: 21:00 to 22:15. Videos from 19:00 to 01:00. This is a proposal from PEDRA and the Fabra i Coats – Art Factory within the Creation & Museums project.

·         Tasting of churros with Comaxurros. Starting at 19:00. Go to the TAPAS. Spanish Design For Food exhibit and you’ll get a ticket to have a free tasting.

All activities in the Night of Museums will be free. You cannot miss this!
