Successful participation at the first colloquium on fashion and textiles

On 17th and 18th November, for a few days Terrassa became the capital of textiles and fashion, just as it had been during the 19th and 20th centuries with the rise of the textile industry in the city. The first Colloquium of Researchers in Textile and Fashion brought together more than one hundred participants at the Centre de Documentació i Museu Textil (Documentation Centre and Textile Museum, CDMT)

Organised by the Textile and Fashion Studies Group of the Design History Foundation, the conference served to bring together experts in the fields of textiles and fashion who shared their knowledge and new lines of research into dyes, raw materials, fabric design and technology transfer.

During the Colloquium, participants had the opportunity to visit the permanent Dressing the body. Silhouettes and fashion (1550-2015) exhibition at the Museu del Disseny. One of the curators of this exhibition and a curator of the textile and fashion collections of the Museum, Sílvia Ventosa, was even one of the speakers at the Conference.
