Calabria is an Italian region located in the middle of the Mediterranean, a place where many cultures meet. Traditional music is, still today, a reflection of distant, ancient and diverse origins, as well as an identity expression of the different territories that make up the region.

To approach the music of Calabria we will do it through organology, the description of the instrument and the social environment. We will also go into ritual and symbology to understand the communion of instruments so different in certain cultural settings. Three Calabrian instruments recently incorporated into the Museum's collection: a tamburello (tambourine), a zampogna (bagpipe) and some nacchere or castagnette (castanets) will star in the session, which will also feature a musical tasting by Piero Pesce. And all this with sybarite air from the Calabrian city of Sibari.
