The “I’m not afraid” demonstration starts at 6:00 pm on Saturday 26 August. It will follow a route from Jardinets de Gràcia (Passeig de Gràcia with Av. Diagonal) to Plaça Catalunya. The front of the demonstration will be made up of representatives from all of the services involved in the response to the terrorist attack, along with other affected groups.

 

 

The front of the demonstration, which will be located at Gran Via with Passeig de Gràcia, will consist exclusively of representatives from police forces, services and groups  that were involved in the response to the attack. The demonstration will be led by this group.

 

Three zones have been prepared for the media covering the demonstration. They will receive an email this afternoon informing them that their accreditations have been confirmed.

 

ZONE A. HEAD OF THE DEMONSTRATION This area will be exclusively for television channels and photographers. There will be no access for writing staff here. When the front of the demonstration arrives at Plaça Catalunya, accredited media personnel will be asked to occupy ZONE C.

 

ZONE B. PLAÇA CATALUNYA FOUNTAINS. This area will be for television channels that need to make live broadcasts and connections in order to explain what is happening in the demonstration.

 

ZONE C.  NEXT TO THE STAGE PLAÇA DE CATALUNYA. This area is intended for journalists following the route from the start to the central stage. Platforms will be installed for graphic media on one side. A work space will be set up for reporters close to the stage and radio broadcasters will have a connection enabling them to pick up the sound of the event taking place on the stage.  It must be remembered that the only camera operators and photographers given access to this zone will be those who follow the front of the demonstration from Gran Via to Plaça Catalunya. Priority on the two platforms prepared at this location will be given to photographers.

 

IMPORTANT:  Access to the 3 zones will only be possible through Rambla de Catalunya (see map). You can enter from 3 to 5 pm.  After this time, media staff will not be admitted. You should arrive early because there will be a security check.

 

RECEIVING YOUR ACCREDITATION

Approved accreditations will be given out on Saturday 26 August, from 9 am to 1 pm, at Barcelona City Hall (access from Plaça Sant Miquel).

 

You must have received an email confirming the approval of your accreditation. When collecting the accreditation, you must indicate the specific people who will be covering the event, because they will be named.

 

PARKING FOR MOBILE UNITS

Parking for mobile units will be provided behind the fountains in Plaça Catalunya (zone B) and next to Carrer Vergara.

 

The mobile units that have been properly accredited can enter the area from 8 am on Saturday.

 

All mobile units must be set up before 2 pm.

No parking places will be provided for vehicles that are not mobile units.

 

INSTITUTIONAL SIGNAL

TV3 will offer the institutional transmission signal for the demonstration and the ceremony in Plaça de Catalunya from 5.45 to 8.30 pm, via satellite to all medial channels in HD.

 

TV3 will also provide a signal from Torrespaña (via FORTA) in SD, from Collserola in HD and will transmit a signal online.
