Working groups

Commerce and tourism security group

During its meeting of 22 November 2011, Barcelona Urban Security Council agreed to set up the Commerce and tourism security working group, with the aim of working with the various public and private operators concerned, through participation and coordination, on proposals for improving the protection and security of temporary citizens.

“Welcome to Barcelona”, is the result, used by the city to inform temporary citizens of security and community-life issues. It has been available online at www.bcn.cat since the end of July 2013. It is published in nine languages and three different digital formats, so that it can be consulted and downloaded in full or in part and edited in the formats and materials available to each operator.

Educational community group

During its meeting of 22 November 2011, Barcelona Urban Security Council (CSUB), agreed to set up the School Security group working group based on the premise that they are privileged areas constructed for the general public and guaranteeing their protection and security, as one of the public security policy's objectives in Barcelona.

Setting up the working group has enabled us to share our work with other operators and to reflect jointly on issues such as school harmony and improving safety, from both a physical and education-community perspective, as well as on the lines of intervention that may improve the attitude of the students, the centre professionals and the education community as a whole within the framework of the risk prevention culture.
