Barcelona City Council and the signees of this Declaration wish to increase the support of European cities and regions and present the Declaration to the competent EU authorities as well as European and supranational organizations with roles and influence in this process. We demand them to listen to and respect the right of local governments to be consulted on decisions that have a direct impact on the lives of their citizens. We ask for democracy, transparency and participation in the negotiation of this treaty.

We invite all those European cities and regions in opposition to the principles and conditions of TTIP, TISA and CETA free trade agreements to sign-up to the Barcelona Declaration.
