Areas of responsibility

The Safety and Prevention Area is directly responsible to the Mayor's Office and is politically led by the Commissioner for Security and Safety. It is responsible for public safety and prevention policies and in charge of the Guàrdia Urbana (city police) and the Fire Service Barcelona wants to set an example of safe, peaceful, community coexistence.
