Scope: Spain
Topic: Family - Conciliation - ICT - Familiar policies
Authorization: Luis Ayuso Sánchez.
Review: Publication in the Spanish Journal of Sociology. The family is at the same time a laboratory where many of the social changes affecting the whole society are experienced, but also as a basic catalyst for social transformation. Knowing the views of Spanish citizens about their most relevant issues, and their evolution over time, allows you to discover new images that indicate the direction of social change. Throughout the various waves of the International Social Survey Program (ISSP) and the surveys of the Ministry of Social Affairs, these tendencies can be known. The results indicate the permanence of a peculiar Spanish family culture, as the structural changes in the social position of women are not sufficient to rapidly advance co-responsibility, and as the stagnation of fertility has its explanation not only in the absence of policies of support, but above all in not knowing how to understand our family culture (2018).
