On Saturday, 31 May, come to the opening festival for Ronda de Sant Antoni
Music, children’s entertainment, circus, games, workshops, and lemon slush for everyone! This is how we will celebrate the end of the redevelopment works on Ronda de Sant Antoni—one of the main roads in central Barcelona—on Saturday, 31 May, from 10.30 am to 2.00 pm. It has been transformed into a promenade full of seating areas for local residents and more greenery.
The festival will be the perfect opportunity to explore every corner of the new Ronda de Sant Antoni, between Carrer del Comte d’Urgell and Carrer de Floridablanca. The new promenade will feature three main activity hubs during the festival:
In the area closest to the Sant Antoni Market, among the new seating areas, planted beds, and pergolas providing shade, there will be wooden games for children (Els amics d’en Crusó) and workshops organised by the Barcelona Environmental Facilities Network (XEAB). In the area closest to Carrer de Villarroel and Carrer de Tamarit, Kanaya Circ will host circus activities for all ages. Near the junction with Carrer de Floridablanca and Carrer de Casanova, a stage will be set up, featuring live music by La Colla Pirata at 11.00 am and Arrels de Rumba at 12.30 pm. There will also be various roaming entertainment groups and a spot where you can cool off with a lemon slush.
Fàbrica Moritz Barcelona, located on Ronda de Sant Antoni since 1856 and a key driving force in the area, has collaborated in designing and producing the music programme for the festival celebrating this street that connects Ciutat Vella and the Eixample.

A new promenade to enjoy everyday life
The redevelopment of Ronda de Sant Antoni has transformed over 1,000 square metres of public space. The former site of the temporary Sant Antoni Market platform is now a lively area where pedestrians take centre stage.
Numerous seating areas have been created, surrounded by greenery, many of them shaded by pergolas. Large planted beds, more trees, and a new children’s play area in Plaça del Pes de la Palla. In fact, the works have also renovated this square and Plaça del Dubte, which are now part of the new promenade. The redevelopment has also made it possible to calm traffic on Carrer de Tamarit, between Villarroel and Comte d’Urgell.
