One Hundred Years of the Martorell Map: A New Way to Explore It
The Barcelona Contemporary Archives is commemorating the centenary of the city's first major modern cartographic plan, launched in 1925 with the appointment of Vicenç Martorell as head of the first municipal cartography office.
To celebrate this occasion, we are making a digital version of the Martorell maps at a 1:2000 scale, published in 1933, available to the public. Through this version, users can visually and directly access the 1:500 scale maps via our Online Catalogue.
To consult it, simply click on the grid of the general map (see the attached PDF) to view the detailed parcel map of the corresponding area, without needing to know the exact nomenclature of each grid square.
