Article of 25 December 1913 dedicated to how the newspaper was made
El Día Gráfico (1913–1939), one of the city’s most iconic newspapers, was first printed in Barcelona on 12 October 1913. It was the first newspaper created with the intention of prioritising photography.

The Historical Archive of the City makes protagonists of the month to the original drawings of Valentí Castanys that entered the AHCB in 1936 by donation of the newspaper La Veu de Catalunya.
On Sunday 20 May 1888 - 133 years ago today - Barcelona inaugurated the first Universal Exhibition in its history. The evening edition of a new newspaper created a few weeks ago reported extensively on that ephemeris: it was El Noticiero Universal, which would soon become Barcelona's afternoon newspaper par excellence. This newspaper stars in the document of the month showcase of the City Historical Archive.
Under the name Societat d'Atracció de Forasters (Syndicat d'Initiative) of Barcelona, this organization was founded on April 1, 1908, with the aim of promoting tourism in Barcelona and Catalonia as a whole.
