Revealed stories: The photograph collections of the municipal archives of the district
Jobs revealed through amateur photography
The collections of the amateur photographers of the neighbourhoods, such as Jaume Caminal and others of a private nature among the archives of the districts, revealed typically anonymous characters of the city, such as Mr Bartolo, the newspaper seller, Miss Joaquima, the washerwoman of Horta, Mr Ramon, the waiter at Lluïsos d’Horta, and the Benesey greengrocers in plaça del Mercat, all in Horta-Guinardó. The same happens with the worker at the Sants bus depot in 1920 and the door person at the Òptica Majó building in Gràcia in 1930, made visible and revealed thanks to the photographers viewfinder.
