Revealed stories: The photograph collections of the municipal archives of the district
Photographic engagements
Among the collections of the district archives are the noteworthy photographs resulting from the engagements of amateur photographers, such as those taken in the Eixample district in the 1980s. Of particular importance among these is the ‘Tardor 1988’ project by José Romero Fernández, comprising 369 photos with the idea of illustrating the condition of a series of monuments, buildings and areas of the district that were expected to be remodelled or renovated in preparation for the Olympic Games in 1992. On the other hand, there is also the photographic report of the façades of buildings in the Eixample taken by the photographer Rosa Feliu between 1982 and 1985, a collection made up of 3,072 photographs.
