Antoni Rovira i Trias was the Barcelona municipal architect in the last half of the twentieth century. Prominent among his work in the city are some of the main markets, the Martorell Geology Museum and the Three Graces Fountain in Plaça Reial. Although he had won the competition for plans to develop the Barcelona Plain, the central government opted for the now famous Cerdà Plan instead.
