Poblenou cemetery is more than a final resting place for the dead; it is a small funerary museum made up of sculptures, mausoleums and pavilions of great artistic value. It dates back to the 17th century when Bishop Climent reformed the entire funerary system by having the city graveyard built outside Barcelona. Today, located right by the sea, Poblenou cemetery is a historical and architectural treasure.
