Barcelona, 1931, the year in which thousands of working families stopped paying their rent.
The Universal Exposition of 1929 saw a massive influx of labour to Barcelona. The city’s population doubled, with the consequent housing problems this caused. At the end of the Exposition, a cruel crisis left the workers without jobs. The inability to pay the abusive rental prices led to widespread evictions and a revolt in the working class neighbourhoods. Barcelona thus experienced its first historical protest to achieve decent housing conditions.

Anapurna
Anapurna (Palma, 1990) is the alter ego of Ana Sainz Quesada. With a degree in Fine Arts from the University of Barcelona, she specialised in illustration at the IED Madrid. In 2015 she received the Premi FNAC - Salamandra Graphic for her first graphic novel, Chucrut. In 2017 she was awarded the Premi Art Jove d’Il·lustració (Palma). Her stories have been published in magazines such as Larva (Colombia), Kiblind (France) and Jot Down (Spain). She is currently writing and illustrating here next graphic novel, Norbu, which will be published in France by the publishing company Çà et là.
Francisco Sánchez
(Barcelona, 1962). After an extensive career in the publishing world, he debuted as a scriptwriter with Chernóbil: La zona (Ediciones Glénat), winner of the 17th edition of the Tournesol Award and the 8th edition of ImaginaMálaga. He adapted the Álvaro Colomer novel Los bosques de Upsala (Edicions de Ponent) for a comic version with the same name. He took part in the collective albums BCN Noire (Norma Editorial), Refugiados (Spaceman Project) and Puro Perú for the NGO Cesal. With Quan el mar va desaparèixer (Editorial Juventud) he made his first foray into children’s illustrated albums.
