The European Commission Representation in Barcelona, Barcelona City Council and The Sun Trip are organising an event on the morning of Monday 2 August in Barcelona to welcome The Sun Trip expedition.

Barcelona is one of the stops on a journey to be made by 36 people on bicycles equipped with solar panels, one that will take them 10,000 kilometres around Europe. The participants, who set off on the adventure from Brussels on 16 June, will cross as many as 28 European countries. You can keep track of where the participants are here.

Taking advantage of the participants’ arrival in the city, the European Commission Representation, Barcelona City Council and The Sun Trip have organised a conference on 2 August, to present the initiative and discuss the future of mobility in Barcelona and in Europe.

The conference will begin at 10 am with a word of welcome from Manuel Szapiro, director of the European Commission Representation in Barcelona; Sílvia Casorrán, deputy chief architect at Barcelona City Council; and Florian Bailly, founder of The Sun Trip. Next, those responsible for the initiative will explain the details of the event. And lastly the Sun Trip participants will talk about their experience, and discuss the future of sustainable mobility in Europe.
