The first weekend of spring brings a series of healthy and enjoyable activities. A water party combines art and fun at the Convent de Sant Agustí, while the Bicycle Festival in Passeig de Lluís Companys will be brimming with ludic activities for everyone. Elsewhere, the Universal Soup Festival is an initiative organised by 9 Barris Acull and the Nou Barris Network for Exchange and Knowledge to foster good community relations.

Sunday 24 March brings the Bicycle Festival (from 10 am onwards), a civic and participatory event promoting the use of this means of transport and sustainable mobility in the city. The celebration is being held in Passeig de Lluís Companys and includes a series of ludic and informative activities where the bicycle is the star of the show.

One of the highlights will be a human mosaic forming a huge bicycle, visible from the air. Bike painting and decorating workshops are also in store, along with itineraries, sessions on mechanics and invention, and solidarity activities. The Bicicletada, an 11 km bike ride around the city, also sets off at 10 am. The start point is the junction between C/ Aragó and Pg. Sant Joan and the finish point is in Pg. Lluís Companys. A taste of soup and neighbourhood harmony

The 16th edition of the Universal Soup Festival is being held under the canopy in Via Júlia (Nou Barris) from 12 noon on Sunday. This original event is organised by the 9 Barris Acull Network and the Network for Exchange and Knowledge. The festival is a god opportunity for local residents to take to the streets and share and taste culinary traditions from around the world.

Besides offering a chance to try all sorts of soups, from traditional recipes to exotic, tropical and even bold and innovative dishes, this gastronomy event also offers various ludic activities, including a circus show. Over the years the festival has enabled people to try over 600 recipes, with 400 cooks and over 200 different entities involved. More information here.
