48th City of Barcelona International Judo Trophy

The best Judokas of the moment will be competing in the 48th City of Barcelona International Judo Trophy

This Saturday, 10 April, Barcelona will be hosting the 48th City of Barcelona International Judo Trophy, which this year will also be the Spanish Super Cup. The competition, organised by the Spanish Judo Federation, together with the Catalan Judo Federation, will be held at the Llars Mundet Municipal Sports Centre (c. Olympe de Gouges, 1) and will be an opportunity to see just how Judo is thriving in Catalonia, as one of the sports with the most federations in the city. However, this year, the championship will not be scored in the national ranking. The competition will take place without spectators and will comply with all the safety and hygiene protocols in place to prevent the spread of covid-19.

Once again, the championship will be comprised of seven different divisions, based on the weight of the fighters. Therefore, in the male division, the participants are divided into the following categories (based on kilograms): -60, -66, -73, -81, -90, -100 and +100. And in the female division, the participants are divided into the following categories (based on kilograms):-48, -52, -57, -63, -70, -78, +78.

The competition, which will feature athletes from the senior elite category, born in 2006 or earlier, will have four official tatamis where the bouts will take place. As usual, the results will be decided in direct bouts and through an elimination process.
