The 15th edition of the festival is being held over the weekend of 26 and 27 October, offering a chance for local people to visit more than 200 buildings in Barcelona and get closer to the city’s architecture. In the case of the Barcelona Fire Service, the Montjuïc and Vall d’Hebron fire stations will both be open to the public on Sunday. In the case of the latter, visitors can discover the new training tower that was inaugurated at the start of the year.
Both spaces are open from 10 am to 7 pm, with no booking required. Volunteers with Open House BCN will be giving architectural explanations to visitors, with groups every 15 minutes.
- Parc de Bombers de Montjuïc, Avinguda Josep Carner, 48-56.
- Torre de bombers del Parc de Bombers de Vall d’Hebron, Carrer de Coll i Alentorn, 5.
The goal of the 48H Open House BCN Architecture Festival is to promote reflection on what is important in architecture and what gives it value, and at the same time what is important for citizens and cultural users alike.
The festival is a recreational and free event, open to everybody with no ticket sales and more than 200 activities where no booking is required. Waiting times for each building vary, depending on the size of each space and the volume of people wishing to visit.
