A double terrorist attack took place in Barcelona and Cambrils on 17 August 2017, leading to 16 deaths and over a hundred wounded. Half a million people filled the city's streets with a single cry on 26 August: “I’m not afraid”, a protest based on the conviction of a diverse and welcoming city.
