Cabosanroque

Cabosanroque is made of up Laia Torrents Carulla, born in Barcelona in 1976, and Roger Aixut Sampietro, born in Barcelona in 1975. They explore sound as a performance-based tool and a medium for questioning spaces, formats and the audience’s role. They are interested in artifice and its relationship with humans.

They seek tensions among disciplines such as music, theatre, the visual arts and sound to create margins, spaces in conflict. With backgrounds in music, engineering and architecture, they use technology not as an aesthetic end in itself but as a tool of creation.

Since 2012, their works have been exhibited both in Spain and abroad, and they have frequently partnered with a wide range of artists, thinkers and writers. They have shown their projects around the world at venues such as Museu Reina Sofía, Centre Pompidou, CCCB, Teatre Nacional de Catalunya, Festival Grec, Temporada Alta, Sónar and La Casa Encendida, among many others. Since 2015, they have been resident artists at the Lluís Coromina Foundation.
