The latest book by Mallorcan author and professor Carme Riera is dedicated to her readers. Gràcies, 50 anys després [Thank You, 50 Years Later], comes exactly 50 years after the 1975 publication of her first book, revolutionary for its time: Te deix, amor, la mar com a penyora [I Leave You, My Love, The Sea as My Pledge]. Since then, her readers have accompanied her on a literary career that has made her one of our leading authors. In this roundtable discussion, she will embark on a personal journey accompanied by journalist and author Álvaro Colomer, with whom she has discussed literature and the creative act on a number of occasions. Both will reflect on the writer’s craft and look back on the works and career of Carme Riera, full of highs and (just a few) lows.
