Barcelona Restaurant Awards

The second edition of the Barcelona Restaurant Awards has been announced. The purpose of the Awards is to recognise the work carried out by neighbourhood restaurants that have stood out in 2018 by reason of their strong bond with the neighbourhood or for having values such as integration, quality of life, innovation and the ability to adapt to changing times. Entries for the Awards can be submitted until 15 november 2019.  

The Awards are split into three categories: 

1. Quality of the cuisine (product): A broad gastronomic journey endorsed by local customers and their institutions is positively valued. The use of local, high-quality products. Specialising in a type of cuisine that is unique in the city.
2. Neighbourhood integration (social): The restaurant identifies itself the specific characteristics of its environment. It fosters sociability and the creation of wealth in the area. It recognises people as the main social focus.
3. Famous or innovative premises (establishment): Use of innovative techniques in the cuisine on offer. Premises that are remarkable by reason of the concept they are based on or their history. Establishments that are famous because of their originality.

Entries for the Awards may be proposed by: the establishments themselves, the members of each district’s award entry committee, trade associations, residents’ associations and non-profit organisations and associations in the restaurant industry.

Entries for the 3th edition of the Awards must be submitted:

-> In person, at each district’s Citizen Help and Information Office (OAC), or at the office located on Plaça Sant Miquel.

Documents to be submitted

• A form consisting of a candidate proposal sheet. This document must be completed in full and includes authorisation for the City Council to check and verify that the requirements for the Award have been met. (You can obtain the form on this page.) 
• An explanatory report on the initiative, establishment or career, where possible accompanied by photographs, press articles or any other documents providing further information on the entry submitted. 
• The establishment's contact details, telephone number and address, as well as those of the owner or representative, in addition to details of the establishment’s social media. 

The Jury’s verdict will be announced at a ceremony to be held in the first quarter of 2019.
