Saturday, 2 June, sees Commerce in the Street in Eixample, Sant Gervasi, Sant Andreu, Horta and Nou Barris

Saturday, 2 June, sees shops in Eixample, Horta, Sant Gervasi and Sant Andreu take to the streets as part of the Commerce in the Street festivities. In Eixample's case, the Cor Eixample shopping hub is playing host to the 14th Modernista Fair, as part of the local festival programme, on 1, 2 and 3 June. Those same days see the Esquerra de l‘Eixample neighbourhood playing host to the 7th Summer Commerce, Food and Crafts Fair.

Eixample on 1, 2 and 3 June

The 14th edition of the Modernista Fair has arrived and is dedicated this year to the Modernista painter Lluïsa Vidal, who died a hundred years ago this year. The Fair is part of the Dreta de l'Eixample’s local festival. C/ Girona, between C/ Diputació and Av Diagonal) will be closed to traffic to make room for the event’s activities, with space put aside for commerce, associations, restaurants and cafés, crafts market and Modernisme stalls. There will be 180 marquees, over 40 activities linked to the Modernista Fair and a hundred or so to the Festa Major.

Esquerra de l‘Eixample is playing host to the 7th Summer Commerce, Food and Crafts Fair. Location: Jardins Montserrat (Rocafort – Rosselló). Shop stalls, children’s activities, music, talks, fashion parades and a night show are just a few of the huge number of activities taking place.

Cor d’Horta

The Cor d’Horta Commerce Federation is organising the Commerce in the Street Festival on Saturday, 2 June. Associated establishments will be taking stalls out to the streets to display and sell their products and services. The festival offers commercial activities from 9 am to 9 pm, with promotions, tasting sessions, displays and, of course, kids’ activities. The marquee in C/ Tajo will be playing host to dancing, sport, live music and samples of the best breakfasts, aperitifs, snacks and suppers offered by local establishments.

Sant Gervasi

Retailers are organising the Commerce in the Street Festival in Sant Gervasi, as part of the 21st Commerce Fair, one of the most important commercial events in the neighbourhood. C/ Muntaner will be closed to traffic between Plaça Bonanova and Ronda Mitre, to make room for shop stalls. 10 am to 8.30 pm. There will be a toys and games area along this section.

Sant Andreu

As work is currently being carried out in C/ Gran de Sant Andreu, this year’s Commerce in the Street Festival is being held in Plaça del Comerç, C/ Ajuntament, Plaça Orfila and Plaça Can Fabra. Fashion trends, craft jewellery, footwear, lingerie, toys and services, such as travel agencies and legal and tax advice. What is more, the Sant Andreu Nord Retailers’ Association and Les Formigues Food Bank will be making a big food collection in C/ Segre entitled “Sant Andreu batega contra la Fam”.

Nou Barris

“Nou Barris commerce is on the move”. Retailers associated with the Nou Barris Hub, the Maragall Hub, the Entorn Virrei Borbó, the Unió de Botiguers Fabra Centre and the Mercat de la Mercè will be putting stalls out in Plaça Virrei Amat, from 11 am to 10 pm. There will be a batucada drumming session, a communal paella, concerts and dancing.

Roman Days of Barcelona at Creu Coberta

The Carrer de la Creu Coberta hosts on the 2nd and 3rd of June the 8th edition of the Roman Days of Barcelona.
