Once again, the city’s shopping districts will be able to apply for subsidies which for the third year running could cover up to 75% of the cost of illuminations, instead of the usual 50%. The new call, approved by the Government Commission, has a budget of 800,000 euros.

Applications for subsidies can be submitted online from 17 May to 14 June (inclusive). The subsidies are aimed at local retailers’ associations for contracting illumination, maintenance, installation and dismantling, plus the design of Christmas lighting in public streets in Barcelona for 2022.
