Panel in memory of the Great Gypsy Round-up of 1749

The Convent of Sant Agustí.

On Friday 30 July, the Day for Combating Anti-Gypsyism, an information panel was unveiled at the Convent of Sant Agusti, in memory of the Roma people imprisoned during the Great Gypsy Round-up in Barcelona of 30 July 1749.

The ceremony was attended by the Chair of the Municipal Council for the Roma People and the Councillor for Democratic Memory and the District of Ciutat Vella, Jordi Rabassa, along with representatives from the member organisations of the Municipal Council for the Roma People, among others.
