Gala Pin is the councillor for Barcelona en Comú at the Barcelona City Council, where she is responsible for the Ciutat Vella district as well as participation and territory. Gala has worked in the third sector, specifically in event production, free software and digital communication. She drafted the Neighbourhood Plan for Montserrat, Parcel·les Casas and Fortuny for the Reus City Council and is the co-author of several books and articles on themes related to the city. She has been based in Barcelona since 2003, and has been involved in the protection of the right to housing and the city and in the Barceloneta neighbourhood movement, where she participated in the reclamation of cooperative memory, the defence of a citizen port and the movement to counter predatory tourism. Since 2009, she has been involved with working to defend rights and freedoms on the internet and on the implementation of techno-political and digital democracy practices. She joined the PAH (Platform for People Affected by Mortgages) in 2012.
