Karma Peiró (Barcelona, 1968) is a Catalan journalist specialising in the internet and Information and Communication Technologies (ICT). She has been the director of Nació Digital since July 2015.
Her career began in 1992 at TVE, and she first came into contact with new technologies just three years later, when in 1995 she started working at Servicom, the first Internet supplier for private users in Spain. She has worked and held positions of responsibility at media outlets such as Catalunya Ràdio, La Vanguardia Digital and 3cat24.cat, among others. She was president of Grup de Periodistes Digitals (Digital Journalists Group) from 1999 to 2001. As an educator, she has delivered courses at Col·legi de Periodistes de Catalunya and to the Journalism departments at UAB, UPF, URL, UIC and UVic. She is part of the Spanish chapter of the Open Knowledge Foundation.
