The collaborative economy was the central theme of the “How to launch a collaborative social project” meeting held on 23 October at InnoBA as part of the DSIPLAY cycle of digital social innovation experiences. Those attending the event discovered several ways of launching a collaborative project and were able to exchange queries and opinions with entrepreneurs from the sector.

Barcelona Tech City was the scene of the second meeting of the DSIPLAY series on social digital innovation experiences, which tackled the question of how to finance and incubate innovative projects with a social impact. The session was an opportunity for businesses and enterprises such as Holaluz, Ouishare, Worldcoo, Migranodearena, Capital Cell, FILMCLUB, and many others, to share their experiences.

The latest edition of the Maker Faire Barcelona, which was held on 5 and 6 October at Nau Bostik, was attended by a total of 10,000 people. The fair attracted 500 participants in all, between exhibitors, speakers and workshop facilitators.

It isn't always easy to secure funding for projects with a social objective and a technological profile. The DSIPLAY cycle of talks is organising an exchange session where various innovative social projects (start-ups) that are already set up and are in the operational phase, will explain the business model they have developed and what obstacles they have encountered along the way.

The Catalan Institute of Advanced Architecture (IAAC) has hosted the final session of the pilot project Citizen Science Data Governance (IoT), an initiative that forms part of the European Decentralized Citizens Owned Data Ecosystem (DECODE) project.

Barcelona City Council, through the Barcelona Energy Agency (AEB) and the i.lab programme, and with the support of the BIT Habitat Foundation, are launching the challenge ‘Paving generators’ to explore innovation in generating renewable energy through existing infrastructures, in this case the city’s paved surfaces.

Sónar+D was the setting for the presentation of the new Collide International Barcelona Award, with the Dutch artist Rosa Menkman the winner of this first edition.
